Fresh Water is
important to us all, but in Tileagd – major celebrations followed
the day water flowed from
the tap connected to the New Well. The team worked hard, helped by
the Gypsies and the Drilling company
had done a great job. |

The Housing Project of
Smiles offering Homeless families HOPE of a future home, is truly a
blessing from
God to those having faced eviction or live life on the streets.
A team from South
Wales made this home ready for a needy family. |

|
Replacing the entire
roof was a major job for the team, but the family who lived with
numerous leaks in the
house every time it rained, were so thankful! |
|
A very important
project to complete were the Foundations for the
Church steel structure at the Tileagd Community Complex.
Senior Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Charlotte NC and Trustee to
the Smiles Foundation was part of the Team.
See his special report. |

Special projects get lots of support
from those on Mission Trips. One such project this summer was the
fence around Gepiu - 600 linear metres (1,950 feet). With
temperatures at 40c./100f. - it was hot hard work! |

Summer Bible School /
VBS is always very popular in the villages. Over the summer, Smiles
holds 7 (3 day) VBS programmes and 24 Children's Clubs - 12 in Gepiu
and 12 in Sumugiu. Sharing the Gospel in a bright, fun and exciting
way. The children love it! |

After such hard
work, the beautiful Smiles Mission Centre allows complete
relaxation, good food and even a swim in the pool! |

Summer trips are always
important and a major help with Construction Work, especially on
some
of our homes in the ‘Housing Project’, sponsored by Churches,
Family’s and Individuals for the Homeless. |

This month, work started in Brusturi – a major renovation
project that will last most of the summer. |
|
More major projects can be undertaken with the willing help of
Mission Trip teams, under the direction of our Romanian staff. This
can often save Smiles considerable money by avoiding the hiring of
Construction teams to do the job for us. |

Here, a financial consultant from Louisiana, a teacher from Florida
and a couple of nurses from England and Ireland work with some
willing youngsters to provide drainage pipes for the Septic Tank of
our Community Complex in Tileagd. |

This summer, we are holding special luncheons for the Elderly at our Gepiu Community Centre. In June, 15 elderly folk, aged 68-93, were
served and treated by our Mission Team to an exciting and memorable
day out. The old folk enjoyed singing hymns between courses and then
continued for 2 hours after lunch.
   |
|
A
wonderful time was had by all and we suspect more might be at the
next luncheon, planned for July 4th! |

A very popular day on all Mission Trips is working at the Children’s
Centre in Cihei. Many children need some special love and attention
due to the difficulties they have faced in their short lives and in
some cases, still face with homes and parents in need of so much
support. The Cihei Children’s Centre provides not only a safe
and secure environment but one with a lot of fun! |

Here, the

Trippers.Thank You!
