When I first got involved with the work in
Tileagd, I couldn’t have guessed the enormous amount of interest there
would be among some of our children for attending such groups.
After
the Princess Club - the girls
program - was launched, I was strongly challenged by some of our
younger school children, wanting to have their own club too.
“Please, please, please Miss Dana.
Can we…?” I was impressed with
their determination and desire to create something they can feel part
of, something that will make everybody proud. I said: “OK, we can
try”.
My first thought was to name the
group “the little one’s club”, but they strongly disagreed with it.
I was happy to see how they started
to be creative, to get involved. “We
want to call it, The Angels
Club! We are like angels”, they
said. So be it. This is how the new club was created for the Tileagd
children.
Every
week, my kids will be there, waiting for me. If I can’t make it, or
I’m running late, I could imagine them already being sad and
questioning me; 15 little
angels coming together to learn
about life, about friendship, about God. They are hungry to learn
everything is required, many times being an example for other, bigger
and better trained.
Please pray for these two clubs. They provide a place where the
Tileagd children will receive a
healthy
alternative for some of their spare time. Useful skills and
information are handed weekly, and I already can see a big difference
in every single one.
I want to send a big “thank you” for all the supporters and friends
for this project. You can make a difference for these kids!
