A few
weeks ago, a young mother of 17 years with a baby of just a few months
came to our centre in Cihei. The mother came looking to get help,
explaining that she had problems of abuse with the partner she was
living with for several years now.
The mother had a sad childhood, very different to most people. Her
mother abandoned her family when she was in her early years of
childhood. She remained in her fathers care but then he gave her to
the grandparents. Later on, because of financial problems she was
taken for a period in a orphanage. When she turned back to her family
in adolescence, her family gave her a very hard time, which led her to
choose a relationship even though she was still an immature child.
Now,
she is pregnant with the second child, which complicates her situation
even more. A mother that is separated from her partner, with a baby
only few months old, now pregnant with the second child, without a
house and in desperate need of our support. Support from the people
who understand this difficult situation and are ready to help!
This
is the opportunity our Cihei Family Care Centre has.
A
question that often comes to mind, “What Would Jesus Do?”
 We
believe He would reach out His Hands, embrace the mother and her child
– offering love, comfort and shelter. We want to do the same.
Please support and pray for the new Family Care Centre to meet the
needs of many more families living with such circumstances.
