News Update March 2007

Greetings in the Name of Christ

We are a few days late on our target of sending out our News Update on the first of the month, but on 1^st March we were involved with extensive travel, especially our Chief Executive as he returned to Romania from America and after just 48 hours travelled onto England where 5 weeks of work had built up. But what an amazing 5 weeks it had been.

Thank you for your prayers and support of the American Tour. An outstanding success, way beyond what we could have dreamed for or imagined possible and the children from Tileagd were a credit to themselves, their families, their School and the Foundation. Thousands of people across the south-east of America fell in love with them – their stories – and their pleas for support to help continue the work God has called us to in sharing His Love with the Tileagd Community and beyond.

A staggering $129,000 (£66,500) was raised during the 4 weeks of touring and we pray the on-going support, month by month, for Families, Medical, Education and Child Care will continue coming in.  support projects

Thank you to all those who supported, hosted and provided an incredible experience that the children will never forget and do pray that Smiles will handle all the resources made available according to God’s Plan and Leading.

Other important items for your attention this month

Coming up in March for our UK supporters are our Smiles Open Day’s.
An opportunity to meet with many involved with day-to-day support of the Foundation. Volunteers, Development Associates, SOFA Executive, Staff and Trustees. We will also have several guests from our Romanian Team to share updates on the work from the Front Line. A great day of Fellowship, Updates, Reports and Discussion.

We also ask for your support in MAY as we promote for the second year –
SMILES DAY to raise awareness and support of the Foundation’s work. We need individuals and Churches to get ‘on-board’ and organise a FUN-DAY for
FUND-RAISING. To also encourage congregations to have a ‘Missions Moment’
in their service with a focus on Smiles and a ‘Special Offering’ to be taken for Romania.

Last year Smiles Days were held first week-end of May & September but different places have requested dates that fit better with their local schedule.    Any time is great with us and we have a special information pack with ideas and instructions for those wanting to get involved. Mission Trips continue to be fantastically supported and we already have 259 people booked for 2007 at our Mission Centre. The number will continue to rise and several of our Summer Trips are already completely full.

Our desire is to encourage as many as possible to experience a Mission Trip to Romania and they don’t come safer or better organised than with Smiles. We try, once or twice a year, to offer a ‘Special Price’ for a Mission Trip to allow the opportunity for those to come who appreciate the offer of a reduced price.

Therefore, MAY 5^th-19^th 2007, is being offered with a price reduction of £100 / $165 – offering the full Mission Trip experience starting at £228 / $395 (excluding air-flight but including Accommodation, Food, Airport Transfers and Projects).
