December is the month when we all try to offer gifts to the people
we love, and no matter how challenging the year that passed has been,
our hearts rejoice because God offered us a very special gift: His son
Jesus. This is what, together with the staff from the nursery and
kindergarten, we tried to make the children understand.
Why December is more special
then other months of the year? Well not because of Santa coming and
giving gifts, but because the Lord Jesus left Glory and has chosen to
live amongst humans. If he would have been born in our days, he might
have been born in a Gypsy village, not in a clean hospital where
people come to say congratulations for the baby.
He could have been one of the children attending our nursery and
someone would have decided to sponsor the child, offering him the
possibility of being educated… I wonder how we would have treated him?
Of course for many of the children in nursery, especially the 3 year
olds that hardly speak the Romanian language so these are pretty
difficult things for them to understand. They were all very excited to
get prepared for the Christmas presentation, learning poems, carols
and waiting to see if Santa may appear to bring them gifts, if they
were good! Once they were there a few of them just couldn’t say a word
because they were not used to speaking in front of parents and guests.
After they finished the presentation with all the excitement they
shouted for Santa to come. He did come eventually with his sack full
of gifts offering one to every single child.
When you see the joy
and
excitement on their faces it’s impossible not to forget all the
problems and worries that we are going through every day. It is
actually true that when you offer a gift you feel much better then
when you receive one. To convince yourself you just have to try it!
The staff and children from the Tileagd Children Centre and
Kindergarten wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
May you
all be blessed!
