August is one of my favourite months!

I was born in August, as was my youngest brother, my cousin, Ghiuri and Meda, dear friends of mine and many others are all born in august …..I love to think that half of the world is born in AUGUST !!!

One thing birthdays do is make me think of family, and living as I do over 500km  (300 miles) away from home – I miss my family, especially my grandparents a lot. Here I am with my grandparents from my mother’s side who I miss very much indeed.

So, how was July for me?? And what news I can bring you?? Here are the thoughts from Maria’s Desk for my friends and Smiles supporters around the world.

For the beginning of July month I was in UK on the Schools Tour. We had a great time and God blessed us every single day with new things….I love the bible verses from Lamentations 3 that says:

“ 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:  22 Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

and indeed I experience this in my work, in my life every single day!!

During our visit to the UK we visited 24 schools, churches and LOTS of friends. I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH to ALL the people that were involved with the planning of the schools tour and our visit there.

Thank you: Dawn Wilson, Penny Kennedy, Brian McKee, Peter Little, ALL the people in  Ballymena, Keith and Sandra Jones, Jenny and David Lee, Leah and Mari Slaymaker, Annette Hoskins and a big Thank you goes to EVERYONE that I forgot to mention now but was a part of the tour, THANK YOU!!

By July 11th the tour was finished and we came back to Romania ready for a mission trip!!! Again, had a great time with lots of great people!! If you are going through the web updates this month you can read what we have been up to during the mission trips.
News from Gepiu, Tileagd, Mierlau and much more!!

Now we are getting ready for the “wedding season” in Smiles. Delia Bideran , our Director from the nursery started on August the 1st.

Then Lidia Chis our main Teacher from the Nursery… Then Angie Fetea our Social Worker…so lots of parties in August and beginning of September…I will show you more pictures in next month updates!

I’m really happy for God’s blessings for each of them, but I’m sad that I’m loosing great friends and great employees (Delia and Angie will move in different countries because of their husband’s work commitments). BUT from my experience till now, I’m sure that God will provide.

Please pray for their “new adventure in life” and for us back at the base without them!

Delia & Cipri... and Smiles!

This month we received great news from our friend in USA – Greg Willis, that he accepted the position of being the Smiles Development Associate in America. He needs lots of help, because it is such a big country sooo - if you would like to find out more about how can YOU help, feel free to contact us or Greg! (greg@thesmilesfoundation.org)

So, can you believe that another month of 2009 has gone?? I can’t!!!??? Time really does FLY, our lives FLY, but where to??!!  I read a book by Max Lucado (my favourite author) this past month called: “He still moves stones” …He Still Moves Stones

I’ve learned that: “the Bible is filled with stories of hurting people, suggesting that people in great need can find answers for their hurts the way Bible characters did. Though suffering comes from many different directions and causes, our suffering is real, and we often have no place to turn, thinking we are all alone in our pain. Yet, in these situations, someone is waiting, ready to step in and lift the burden. Rolling away the stones in our lives is what Jesus does best” …we just have to accept Him, have faith that He is in control and He knows what’s best for our life! Then our final destination is home - heaven!

So, my friend, maybe you have in your life a stone that you are thinking that there is no way it can be moved…I encourage you to give it to Jesus and have faith that He still can move the stone from your life….He did mine, and He still does, so don’t be shy - ask Him and He will be there for you!

Thank you for your prayers and support for the Smiles Foundation and Be blessed!

Sincerely,
Maria Cimpoca
