STAFF PROFILE ........

Name:Clara Ungureanu
Place of Birth:
Alesd
Date of Birth:
11 August 1958

Education:
I graduated the Agricultural Studies University from Cluj Napoca, back in 1981. At  the same time, I undertook classes in Psychology, this way I could put together the two hobbies I have: Engineering and Teaching. Later on I took the final exams for being Director for the school.

Position in Smiles:
Director of the Smiles Community School and the Smiles Nursery and Kindergarden in Tileagd.

An important moment:
Of course, along the years, there were many important moments in my life, some in connection with my family, some with the job and the profession. But it’s a sure thing that God was with me all the way and I felt Him close. He takes care of me and in my most difficult times He gave me strength and hope. Unforgettable moments were those when I held my three children in my arms for the first time, after they were born.

I admit I was privileged because in my career I had the chance to work with children of all ages and I got attached emotionally to them, as well as they did to me. I was always close to the under-privileged childr
en and marginalised ones. It was like they get into my soul and the same happened to me in the Smiles school and nursery.

So I do consider joining the Smiles family as being special and important in my life. This happened back in 2004 when I was looking for a job, as I came with my family from about 400 km away and was not an easy time for us. From the first moment I realised this job will fit me perfectly, it was exactly what I was looking for. Certainly, God listened to my prayers and put me in the right place to work; that is my view of it and I hope also the other’s I am working with every day.

Family Details:
I am so proud to have the most wonderful and beautiful family. My husband’s name is Nelu and we are married for 30 years. He is an insurance inspector. He’s been the most understanding and kind husband, he supported me for all the decisions I took in life. Together we’ve raised our three children who have brought happiness and fulfilment to us along the years. Our eldest daughter Timea, is 29 and she graduated from Law School, she’s married with Marius. Then we have Romea, 28 years old, he’s married with Alina and also graduated Law School. The youngest daughter, Linda, is 27 and she is a dentist. She is not in a hurry to get married..!  Soon, I also hope I will be a happy grandmother. Even though we all work hard and are very busy, we try to spend all the time we can together, enjoy each other’s presence.

Interests/Hobbies:
I enjoy very much painting and dancing. These activities relax me and put me in a good mood. I am not particularly trained in arts, but I am a self-trained that endeavours to bring everything creative into my head! These hobbies I discovered are perfect for working with the children and provides me time to be with them. It’s extraordinary to start the day among the children, in dancing steps for about 20 minutes, that gives you such an energy that will carry you through the whole day. Lately I am not so much into the painting anymore, as this requires to be disconnected from everything else, so now I am more in the “moving period”. Maybe I will paint more when I retire from my job.

A day in the life of...
Each new day in the Smiles’ School and Nursery is a challenge. To avoid the monotony, I am trying, together with my colleagues, to bring joy and satisfaction to all of us - children, teachers, professors, parents, by doing something new. In order to achieve that, I am very alert and ready to read what’s in every child’s soul, to be able to offer what they want and need. I am not always successful, but every failure is just an ambition boost in learning, I never give up. The best is when I feel encouraged by smiling children. It’s almost incredible how much joy each one of them brings to me, I am actually very grateful for that.

Hopes for the future:
Each one of us has hopes and dreams, and we all want them to become true one day. I admit I also have many daring dreams, very nice, very colourful. It can not be otherwise, as the main actors are happy children, educated, smiling, living in a better world, hoping for a better life. I wish, from all of my heart, to be part of realising these dreams that are not only mine, for sure!
