April 2010
from Greg
When I last wrote to you, we were in the final days of the choir
tour. What a great final weekend we had in Jacksonville. As I did
last month, I need to thank everyone
who made this tour possible. Being a
part of the tour was a tremendous experience for me. I met so many
wonderful people and I am so excited to see these relationships
grow, develop and produce fruit for
The Smiles Foundation.
I have already been in touch with a number of people that I met on
the tour and there are a number of groups who are seriously
considering missions trips in 2010 or 2011. As most of you know,
mission trips play a crucial role in the development and execution
of Smiles work, as we strive to further engage people into the work
Smiles is doing. I can’t wait to see so many of you take the step of
joining us in Romania and I’m hopeful that I can be there in Romania
with many of you as we roll up our sleeves and do the work that we
are called to do.
I am constantly looking for opportunities to share the Smiles story
and introduce the foundation’s work to folks who have not heard of
us.
During the past month, I had two unique opportunities. I
participated in two craft shows where I was able to sell many of the
crafts made by the ladies in the Tileagd community.
At the same time, I was able to talk to hundreds of people who were
curious to hear how God has used Smiles to change lives and
transform communities in Romania. Most of the folks I met had never
heard of
The Smiles Foundation
and it was a pleasure to raise the awareness of Smiles in my own
hometown of Richmond, Virginia. From those two crafts shows I
received invitations to participate in other craft shows as well as
invitations to speak to churches and civic organizations in the
Richmond area.
This week, we have been blessed with extremely beautiful weather in
Richmond.
Spring is finally here as Easter Sunday approaches quickly.
Like in so many places, the winter in Richmond was unusually cold
and full of snow and ice. As we are now experiencing this gorgeous
weather, I’m reminded of God’s promise, that each morning His
mercies are new. Regardless of how cold and dark some moments of our
life may seem, there will always be a time when new growth emerges
and new opportunities arise. As you follow the monthly reports and
updates, I’m hopeful that you will be mindful of the new
opportunities to help The Smiles Foundation keep changing lives and
transforming communities in Romania.
As always, I thank you so much for your support and participation.
You are such a critical part of the Smiles family. We could not
possible do all that we are doing without you.
My sincere thanks to you all.
All My Best,
Greg Willis
