SPECIAL REPORT
 Gepiu Camp August ‘08

Tuesday, 26 august we left Gepiu for a camp in the mountains. The kids were so excited about the camp and
were asking all the time: “are we there yet?” Finally we did arrive and started to enjoy God’s beautiful creation.

The children were divided in 3 teams and they had to choose a name and to draw a flag to represent the team.
The names were: Silver Tree, Boanerges and Blue Arrow.

Every morning we had bible studies and the theme was: Jesus and the children. The children discovered about the relation that Jesus had with children and also how important it is for them to have a strong relation with Jesus. The bible study was followed by arts and crafts. In the afternoon we had sport activities, and the leaders tried to teach the children how important it is to work as a team. After dinner we had fellowship time, praising God for everything that he did for us that day. During this time the children had also
the opportunity to say experiences that they had during the day and also every evening
one of the teams had to present a sketch.

In one of the days we had a special trip with the children and found a water-fall. We praised the Lord for the beauty that he created for us. We worshipped God and we thanked Him for His blessings.

The last night was special. Children that were talented in different areas had the opportunity to present a special moment. So we had songs, sketch, dance and other interesting presentations. After that we had camp-fire where all the children received a funny diploma for their attitude in camp. For example, one child got a diploma for the sleepiest kid, or the most energetic child.

The last day was short and sad because we had to leave the camp. But before that we asked some children and leaders to say what they liked the most.

Andreea: “The time that I spend in this camp was very precious, but past too fast; now I need go home and worry again about food and my little brothers.”

Mike: “The camp was superb, the only thing that I will like to change is to go to bed later and to have time to talk more with the others. My leaders were good.”

Cristi: “I liked the football championship, the food, the games, and the bible study, for me was the best camp ever.”

Beniamin: “I liked everything in this camp. My team leaders Ovidiu and Georgi were very good and I felt sorry that Ovidiu couldn’t play the football finales because he was injured.” (Sprained his ankle!!)

Alexandra: “I loved everything in this camp, with one exception, that we lost the football finals!”

Florina: “I like the food, I like the craft activates and the bible studies, but I wish not to have to go so fast to bed in the evening and to have more time to talk with the girls!!!”

Ovidiu: “I thank God that He guard us and give us good weather even it rained a little bit. God was good and nobody got sick and we all could enjoy the camp. I believe that God’s Word which was planted in each child will grow and produce fruits at the right time.”

Georgi: “I believe that God was good with us and bless us with a fantastic camp. For me personally, it was an encouragement to see that the children are changed when they hear the word. Every evening, before the children went to bed one of the leaders spent time with them and prayed.
One evening I was in girls’ dormitory and talk about how we need to speak with God through prayer. One of the girls told me that she can’t pray loud because she doesn’t know how. I tried to explain that it is not difficult - it’s just like talking with me, expressing her worries and appreciations. I didn’t force her to pray, but I prayed in my heart that she will have the courage to pray and God answered my prayer. She was one of the girls that prayed that evening. God is good and he was faithful to us."

All the children form Gepiu want to thank you
for making this possible for us.
