Graduation Day – June 13th
2007
The dream of
building a school and providing education for a Gypsy Community with
over 150 children seemed a remote hope back in 2002 when the
challenge was first considered.
But the Dream became a reality and since September 2003 The Smiles
Foundation has run the Tileagd
Community School and the Nursery
was opened in 2004.
Already, several graduates from our school are in full-time
employment and others have gone on to State Schools with provision
for 5th - 8th grade.
In September 2007 – Smiles will begin its fifth year of providing
education for Grades I-IV, but will also begin its first year of
offering 5th Grade in collaboration with the State
Education department.
As the School celebrated is Graduation Day 2007 – we ensured a few
photographs were taken to mark the very special occasion.
