Special Report
from Pastor Ovidiu |
|

Pastor Ovidiu shares some of the
Tileagd Community Church
pastoral news from recent weeks. |
After all the busyness of firstly
preparing the Complex in May for the Grand Opening and then the summer
Mission Trips, September provided me the first real opportunity to
settle down to the heart of the ministry here in Tileagd – the
people.
Our Wednesday evening Prayer meeting at the Church is an
important time for many to come and pray together for concerns and
problems in the community. This month, the topic in every prayer
meeting, was for the US Tour – the children in the choir and Kevin,
Ghiuri, Maria and Octavia. Prayers for safe travels, whether flying or
driving and for success at all the events planned across America. Up
to 17 people attended the prayer meetings each week, this past month which is
encouraging, especially as many of the regular attendees are actually
in America.
The Sunday services are also well attended and an increasing number
of Romanian locals are joining us. This is being particularly
encouraged by my visits to the elderly in the community.

Starting in September, I regularly visited many
elderly people in Tileagd. Most of them have started to come to church
because, I believe, they saw that someone is really interested in
them. Many times, when I visit the elderly, they have so many sad
stories about their life, about their problems and so many of the
stories are about their children with alcohol problems. They don’t
visit them and don’t seem to care about them.
Some of these elderly have major problems with lack of food because
their pension is too low and is hard for them with food, clothes or
wood for heating and cooking in the winter.
After I hear their story with so many problems, we pray. I encourage
and assure them that I will visit again. These visits help people to
understand that they are not neglected or forgotten. I wish we had
more Family Care support to add these elderly folk to our project.
I observed that at the moment people are visited, they come to the
church where they pray and spend time listening to the word of God.
Please join me in praying for these people. If you can help them
with food and winter fuel – please join the Family Care project and
designate your support to ‘Elderly Support’.
My work with the children and youth continues.

On September 20th, children and youth
came on a trip to The Bear Cave. For them, this was like a long trip,
because the cave is about 90 miles from Tileagd. The weather was rainy
and a little bit cold. This trip was different than the trips in July
and August because of the weather and the planned activity.
This trip was to be more like a visit for
children and youth to see the beauty of creation that God created
for His people.
On this trip were ten children and nine youth. Pastor Ilie and Brother
Dan (driver from Gepiu) joined me. After 90 miles one way, we arrived
to The Bear Cave. Before visiting the cave, all the people wanted to
eat because of the long trip and were hungry!
Many of them comment about this visit that they never see such a
beautiful things created by God. This cave has three galleries
underground: the bones gallery, Emil Racovita gallery and candles
gallery. After 30 minutes, we finish to visit the caves and this
experience could be read on their faces, just how splendid was inside
the mountain.

A few comments were:
Strugurel:
"I didn’t know that can exist in my country such a beautiful cave."
Crisan:
"this cave is more beautiful than the last cave I saw in Suncuius."
Madalina:
"Wow. How beautiful it is inside." |

Your support enables this outreach work to
continue and your prayers will make it effective in the hearts of the
children, their families and the elderly.
Thank you and please continue to be a part of
this ministry.
