Our 2016 Smiles Day was a huge success! .... Why? Because God had work for us to do, and we did it. He is faithful to us when we are faithful to Him.

We have been blessed and are able to support the work of Smiles in Romania with almost £5000.00 ($7,500) this month as a result of your Smiles Day Events across the country. Today we praise God!

Thank you for taking part and thank you for praying with us over the weekends. Our ‘day’ extended over 2 weekends which is even better and actually we have another one still coming up and we have the results of another one still to come in.

The photographs are brilliant; I hope you enjoy looking through them. I can see hard work and fun, thank you for your comments;

Well we did it. ! I feel totally humbled. The little chapel was packed with people, children, chatter, laughter, love and friendship.  We never stopped. The children decorated cakes and made pictures. 

The adults talked, laughed and donated an incredible sum, while enjoying drinks and cakes. It was great to have some new helpers and also new supporters.

The picture is my nephew Harvey 8 years. He was very eager to help and was on the door with his Uncle Derek!

Well done Harvey, thank you for helping at our Smiles Day. We are delighted to have young people working with us in Smiles, and pray that you will be able to visit Romania as part of a Mission Trip someday soon!

We had a very successful morning, as everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.  A number of people who were not able to come gave very generous donations ( in fact, everyone did ), and we had a good turnout. I can’t get over people’s generosity.

I had a lovely event at which people who hadn’t already heard, got to know a bit about the amazing work God does in Romania through Smiles. Charlotte

It was an amazing evening at our Quiz, well supported and with a tremendous atmosphere and enjoyed by all, even those who may have found some of the questions tough! God really honoured our prayers for this event and blessed the JFL disability centre and the Smiles Day with the money raised. God bless, Joan and John

We had great fun watching our movie and then the Smiles DVD afterwards. The photograph didn’t turn out too well as we were in the dark of course!

Fundraising is essential to Smiles, as it is to all ministries. We, as Volunteers, are committed to make a difference in Romania so please prayerfully consider how we can continue our fundraising throughout the year. We don’t have to organise ‘big’ events all the time, some quiz sheets or selling Mother’s Day Cards at a School Fair can generate essential income. Everyone’s little efforts together can really make a big difference.

Some commented; ‘there were fewer at my event than I expected, or not many turned up’. ..... Be encouraged! There is no such thing as too few people, because we don’t know what God will do with that one person who did turn up. Don’t ever feel let down or disappointed.
