July ……..…a roller-coaster month!

Did you ever go on a ride on a roller coaster??? How did you feel?!?!?! I went few times before….in my youth ! The scariest one was in Sea World, in Florida! I remember I got to the top and for a few seconds it stops! I was scared of it! I had enough and wanted to get down as soon as possible!!! I thought "that’s it, now I would die"!!! Few minutes later I got safely down from it!

Well, dear friends this past month was feeling like a ride on a roller- coaster!!! Lots of things going on! Personally, professionally – everywhere it seemed!

It started with the news on my grandmother health – pancreatic cancer. After a few weeks in the hospital she came back home. We enjoy the time with her and ask God to give her peace and make the pain less. God is the only one that knows for sure how long she has on this earth! Please pray for me, for my family and for my grandmother! For me this is a very hard time because I am very close to her!

From the Smiles point of view?!?!! Well, let me tell you few of the things that I had this past month!!

Many of you know the situation over the school and nursery future! For more than 1 year and a half I’ve been working on this and had lots of meetings!!! One day is positive answer
, one day is negative answer! Many people discourage me! Many people said " is easier to close the project and forget about it!". Even when in June we had to take more hard decisions, I still did not have a total peace on this! So this past month we had more meetings and I was over the moon to get a positive answer from the last meeting we had!!! So dear friends, please continue to pray for TILEAGD PROJECT!!! Our job there is not done! There is still a lot of work to do! We can’t do it without GOD, without your prayers and support!!! For more details on this check Mr Hoy’s E-mail News Update.

Another big project on my plate is JFL!!! Again a true roller –coaster!!  Now that we set a time, a fixed date for opening the pressure is higher and higher day by day!!! God is doing miracles there, but Satan is not sleeping either!! So, the inside of the building from the hard construction side is nearly done!! We have to paint and start decorating the place!!
There was a lot of shopping hours spent in B&Q, Bricostore (construction shops)…….lots of decisions on the right products and the best prices…lots of negotiation …..lots of tears of joy and some of sadness……Please pray for us and this project! We do need money to cover the expenses that we have with this project! It’s not just "another project for the Smiles portfolio" – it’s a true RESPONSE TO A REAL NEED!!!

I know there are people who are thinking "why another one?!?!". I was thinking the same if I’m honest with you! But this past month when one of the elderly
people that is already downstairs at Cihei had to go to the hospital because of health problems, the family first question was "will you take him back??!! Will he be able to still have a room here?!?!"….It breaks my heart to see sooo many old people alone! With no hope! No one to come and open their door and just say HI!!! My grandmother is soooo blessed! I told her that this past month many times! She has her kids around, her grandkids, and great grand kids!! So, please please pray and support financially this project! One pound or one dollar can go a loooooooong way!!! We will be very careful with everything we spend.

You might wander what‘s next??? Well the mission trip season is in full swings now!! So that was another "focus point" for me this past month! It is a joy for me to have sooo many people coming to Romania and see the work we do. Be a part of the work we do! Hands on experience!!! My joy is that when I have so many people around the jobs are done faster!

Just as I type this report we have a team of Scouts here for the first time ever in Romania from England. 22 of them!! I had a day off this past week and I spen
t that day with them in a camp! Three hour drive from Oradea! A very nice place where the Gepiu kids went for their summer holiday! A real blessing!!

But like the roller coaster is up and down, I had great things going on too!!! What are they??!?!? Well, on July 13th the Smiles office team had a great time at an Andre Rieu concert!! A very relaxing time!!! Like Mr Hoy says, work hard , play hard!!

Another piece of good news that I would like to share with you……and to be honest I could not wait for August update to come…….is that on September the 1st I will have ANOTHER DREAM COMING TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GO TO AFRICA!!!! YES , you read right!! I said AFRICAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I go together with few Smiles members and with Cornel, my hubby for a mission trip!! I can’t wait for it!!! I’m over the moon!! I prayed and dreamt of this for years!!! Every time when I heard a story about an African missionary my heart melted!! The story of the kids and poor people there always left me with the taste that I‘M REALLY BLESSED!!!! So, I can’t wait to get there!!! PLEASE PRAY FOR US!!! PRAY for a safe journey and no accidents or problems!!
The key people are going! So we need extra prayers!! Mr Hoy, Georgi, Ritza, Me and Cornel…….and Dawn our UK administrator!!

I’m soooooo happy that she is coming to! Dawn works sooooo hard in order for us to do our job month by month so this is a great great experience we all look forward to!! Can’t wait to be back with God’s grace and tell you how it was!!!

So, I’m leaving you this month with a psalm, that this month was a good encouragement for me!

        Psalm 124 (NIV)

If the Lord had not been on our side— let Israel say
if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us,
they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;
the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,
the raging waters would have swept us away.

Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare;
the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Be blessed
