What is LOVE?
The dictionary says that “Love is a complex set of emotions, behaviours, and beliefs associated with strong feelings of affection, protectiveness, warmth, and respect for another person”.
Isn’t it a great description of Love!
But how many of us would sacrifice the person we love for the good of others? I doubt we would, but GOD did!
He gave His ONLY SON to die on the cross for us … BECAUSE HE LOVES US!
What an amazing act of Love!
The world we live in, celebrates love in a focused way during February! For some, it may be the only time of the year when they really show affection. And I think that is a sad fact, but probably true! The world is inundating us with a lot of negative things and encourages us to think and focus more on ‘feelings – even ego’!
BUT, we as God’s children need to remember what He did for us and we need to love our ‘neighbour’ like he taught us to do!
Working in a charity, we get in touch with a loooooooots of people. Some of them are very ‘easy to love’ some ‘very hard’. Some, even if you show them love for years, they still ‘don’t get it’.
Throughout the projects we work with, we show love to hundreds of people month by month!
In places like Tileagd, Gepiu and Rapa, our love is encouraging kids with education, a hug, a smile.
In places like our Elderly Centres in Oradea, Salonta and Tileagd our love is to give them a more comfortable living, time to listen to their stories, laugh with them and sometimes wipe their tears.
In the visits we do to the Homeless Community and families, our love is shown through the acts of kindness, a food parcel, a medical prescription fulfilled that they can’t afford, ‘a chat’….. being present and taking time to care!
BUT IN ALL the above and through everything else we do – our actions of LOVE is showing that GOD LOVES them more than anything and anyone! What about you? Do you feel loved?
I pray that each one of us will know the love that the bible describes in 1 Corinthians chapter 13! That each of us will know above all else, God’s incredible Love for us.
And I thank you for the love you show to the Romanian people through the actions you do day by day in praying for us, supporting our work and coming to see when you can.
On a personal level this past month, I feel very loved by my earthly father, Ilie Cimpoca!
He was away from Romania for nearly 3 months! He came back on January 29. I really wished I could travel home (a 5-6 hour drive) to see him, but with the kids having small colds and responsibilities in Smiles, I could not do it. So, I hoped that he would come to see me, but I knew that he was very busy, recovering from his travels and catching up with things from while he was away!
But last weekend, MY DAD DROVE all the way to Oradea, alone, to see me and the family!!! I could not believe it! I was sooooooooo happy! I love him a lot and I will never be able to show him the love and appreciation I have for everything that he did and does for me. I thank God for him and I’m so proud to be his daughter!
So, in closing, I want to leave you with the encouragement that if our earthly fathers love us this much, imagine God LOVES US EVEN MORE!!!
What a great encouragement to know that.
Maybe some have less loving experiences with their earthly fathers, but for everyone I want to encourage you to LOOK UP.. HE (GOD) is having his arms wide open for you!
Run to Him! He LOVES you!
I also love this song from Chris Tomlin and suggest you take a listen, in the background, while reading more of our news and updates!
With Love in His service for who you are and all you do.
