New Year Resolutions – Do you have any?
I have lots! I always have a huge list in January. How many of them are kept until December? Very Few!
Sometimes I get upset that I can’t manage to ‘stick to the list’ and keep them. But what is nice is that God is the one that controls everything. I look at some things that ‘I wished for’ and I’m happy that I did not get them! God knows better as He tells us in Jeremiah that “He knows the plans He has for us”. And what better reassurance do we need than this?
So this year I do not have many! My main one is to be able to get closer to God day by day. In a world that is more upside down each and every day, we need to stay close to HIM more and more!
Another one is to see Stefan growing up good and for us to have wisdom as parents to teach him the difference between what’s good and what’s bad. To see my family and dear ones healthy and close to God…… and I have a few more.
But what are my wishes, my New Year Resolutions for SMILES? And they are not just ‘wishes’ but they are also my prayers!
So, let me share them with you:
I pray that in everything we do – for God to be glorified.
I pray that all our beneficiaries will see God’s love through all the Smiles staff and get to know Him as a personal Saviour.
I pray that each project we have, we will get to the point in 2017 where we can have the monthly operational costs covered. Not to be in minus anymore and suffer the pressure of deficits!
I pray for my colleagues who work within Smiles and Sminro here in Romania and in the UK; for God to give them strength and wisdom in everything they do and to stay close to the calling they have.
I pray for Mr Hoy – for his operation this month and for a good recovery. And I pray for him to be around us for many, many years to come. I pray for God’s protection over him in everything he does.
I pray for all our sponsors. For God to multiply everything they give. I pray for blessings over them and for protection for them and their families.
I pray for all the people that plan to come this year to visit us here in Romania for God to give them a serving heart.
I pray for EVERYTHING we need to do and ALL the plans we have to be according to God’s Will.
So my dear friend, I do not know your list, your New Year resolutions, but I pray that they would be according to God’s Will. May He bless you and keep you in His Hands throughout this New Year of 2017. May His light shine upon you and your family and be blessed in everything you do!
Thank you for the fantastic help you gave us in 2016 and please continue to do so in 2017 too with your prayers, with your time and your support. I know God will bless it all!
With Love, Thanks and Respect
