The projects within Smiles 500 Care Club are managed by the Smiles Executive Management.
In 2010, Smiles made an important decision that would significantly impact future financing and management of our work in Romania – to develop Residential Care Facilities. We started what was basically a ‘trial period’ at our Cihei HQ, where we converted a small facility for supporting Vulnerable Women into an eight (8) bed Elderly Care Home. At the same time, we purchased land and launched a major appeal to build our own ‘purpose built’ Elderly Care Home in Salonta. The joint Facility of Love in Salonta was a two-phase project. Phase One was a 30-bed residential facility that opened in October 2013. Phase two, a 12-bed specialist facility for Dementia Care and Disability Suite – opened in April 2016. During this time, the City of Oradea Mayor asked us to take on the management of a huge building the City needed managing. So we established ECO – Elderly Care Oradea and now run a 46-bed facility in the City, opened in October 2014. And by 2017, we had developed Tileagd Assisted Living in our Community Complex – providing a 38-bed facility. The Smiles Foundation was established as a leader in Elderly Care for Bihor County, NW Romania. Further details can be found in our individual facility features.
